Process automation design and instrumentation design

Automation design refers to the design of both automation and
instrumentation. Process automation design involves the automation of processes
or parts of them, either through decentralised programmable logic or through a
factory automation system covering the entire facility. A process
automation system controls the process’s regulating units, gathers measurement
data about the processes via local instruments, manages reporting, and collects
historical data.
Instrumentation design determines the local equipment and instruments to be used in various processes.
Utility design
In addition to demanding HVAC and automation systems, the RE
Group also designs utility systems serving production engineering, with such
systems including steam, condensate, refrigeration fluid, ice water, compressed
air, gas and other specialist systems.
